Lisa Casey, Consultant Physiotherapist
Out with the Peppermint Group, Lisa has been working within advanced practice for many years. Her current role is as an advanced physiotherapy practitioner (APP) and has been working in this role for the past 4 years. Prior to that she was clinical lead and clinical services manager in the UK’s leading Private Hospital Group BMI for 8 years. Her APP role requires her to assess, diagnose and treat patients with new or persistent pain or musculoskeletal problems. A very successful treatment for the correctly selected and appropriate patients is steroid joint injections. Patients are required to be assessed for this prior to injecting and some may require further x-rays prior to injection and this is determined on the day by Lisa.
Lisa has successful completed a further post-graduate course, as a non-medical prescriber @ the University of Stirling. Lisa was co-chair of the injection therapy network. In addition to this, Lisa is a consummate professional, with clinical expertise in joint assessments and the treatment and management of acute and persistent pain and injuries or musculoskeletal conditions. As well as possessing extensive clinical skills, she has previously worked @ Glasgow’s largest teaching hospital for 6 years and has 17 years of postgraduate employment in both the NHS and Private Practice. Her current role as Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner and previously as lead clinician and clinical services manager has underpinned this.
Consultant Physiotherapist
With such extensive clinical skills and an ability to manage pain through clinical assessments, joint injections and self-led management. Lisa can provide a stream lined joint assessment clinic and a comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment for the relevant joint whilst providing expert and professional advice. Lisa is very excited to be working with Dr Pod and the Peppermint Group, and is looking forward to meeting new clients and improving your joint pains.
